Everyone at Ardis is encouraged to use the riding skills they learn in lessons in a way that interests them most. For some this may be attending clinics, for others competing and for others trail riding.
This page is to showcase what everyone's been up to ... the highs & the lows ... the good and the bad. Life with horses usually presents a mixed bag!! This page will include both in-house and external competitions /training days.

NRC Hamish Cargill Jump clinic at Avondale PC
Jess/PJ, Soo/George and Abbey/Earl all participated in a typically great Hamish clinic! Mozart showed too much enthusiasm at the start of his workout dumping Soo & jumping on her arm which meant he had to stand and listen for the rest of the session! Jess and PJ won fantastic words of praise from Hamish. George did brilliantly for his first proper outing jumping bright barrels, hay bales, ditch, water jump etc. Abbey and Earl also had a great run and jumped with super form.

Cross country training at Terrey Hills PC grounds
A lovely excursion to the local pony club grounds for Georgie/Tallulah, Kira/Tom, Jess/PJ & Soo/George. Fantastic work from all horses & riders; a great start to the year. Thanks to Abbey for pics.

Vaulting clinic with Lyn Lynch
Another great clinic with Lyn who this time brought Lord Louis as her vaulting horse. See video of the routine our vaulters put together after only 1-2 hrs learning/practice.

In house fun, casual dressage evening
13 horse/rider combinations practised their dressage tests, complete with caller, judge & penciller. A good evening & smiles all round. Huge WELL DONE to everyone who rode - for the majority it was their first go at riding a test outside of a lesson. Congratulations to Sabrina for being awarded 'best presented horse/pony' and to Jess for wearing the biggest smile!

NRC Dressage Championships
A hot day out with the flies!!! Sophie/Nipper and Tash/X both competed in prelim classes. Soo/Mozart 1st with 64% in 1D and 4th with 61% in 1C. Soo/George 60% in 1D and 2nd with 64% in 1C. Soo/Dom 2nd with 62% in 5A and 2nd 59% in 5B.

NRC Show Jumping Championships
Big congratulations to Kate/Lena for 3rd in the 65cm class. Sophie/Nipper and Gemma/Scandal were the other Ardis representatives at show jumping today.
New arena surface at home
A HUGE thank you to Jen, Tash, Direk, Kay, Janet and Trevor for their help in preparing the arena and then spreading our new rubber from RubberWise on the arena. The job didn't take nearly as long as envisaged and all Ardis horses are looking forward to working on it.

NRC Hunter Trials Championships
Congratulations to Kate/Lena, Sophie/Nipper and Karen/Charlie for a successful outing to HT at St Ives. Despite the heat, all combinations put in their best effort and came home having had some fun!
