Unfortunately due to heavy overnight rain our Horsemanship & Jump training day had to be cancelled ... However, this didn't prevent Ardis riders from enjoying a social ride, which included young horses led in hand to further their education!
St Ives show 24 Aug 08
Congratulations to Fe Haslam for not only completing her first ever dressage tests but also for placing 5th (out of 18) in the Prep test with 57.3%. Thank you to Bucc for looking after her and to the support crew - Karen, Tamsin, Meals, Taygan, Lisa & Zoe.
Also competing in the dressage and only their second outing, were Kay Coates & Sansibar. Kay more than achieved her goal for the day by riding both tests with great accuracy. She was rewarded with a well deserved 56.8% in the 1.4. Well done Kay. See the September newsletter for both reports.
Ardis hit the Fun-khana ring where Bucc enjoyed further success, winnin
g both the best decorated galloway tail & led Fun-khana galloway classes. Jimmy took home 2nd in both the best decorated hack tail and led Fun-khana hack, with Tom winning the led Fun-khana hack class. Thunder placed 3rd in Led Fun-khana pony and won the Best Walking Fun-khana pony class ... for a while there we thought we'd lost him & Tamsin to the world of hacking! NRC dressage 17 Aug 08
Tamsin & Pops - 3rd in 2.1 (despite a caller error by her mum ..oops!) with 62.0%; 4th in official 2.2 with 61.8%
Amelia & Sansi - 55.8% in 1.4 ; 49.6% in 2.2
Eileen & Aaliyah - 6th in Prep with 59.5%. Congratulations on a great first test result.
Soo & PJ - 55.4% in 2.3 ; 54.5% in his first elementary, 3.3
Soo & Dom - 54.4% in 2.3 ; 4th in official 3.3 with 61.7%
Karen & Jimmy, Fe & Bucc and Tom - all came for the outing
NRC show jumping 10 Aug 08
Amelia & Sansi braved their first ever show jumping day. Congratulations to them both for a very successful outing (clear in 50cm). ["Meals" was overheard saying she'd like to do the 65cm!!]. Read their report in the September newsletter.
Tamsin rode Tom beautifully around the 50cm & 65cm classes. She also rode Pops in the 65cm & 80cm.
Soo rode Dom and PJ in the 95cm.

NRC Combined Training 3 Aug 08
Helen Brooks & Toby (aka Cosmorex Coffee Connection) took place in their first combined training, which also happened to be their very first dressage test! Helen was 3rd after the dressage with 62.0% (wow!) and with one rail and a couple of time penalties in the jumping, finished 9th in the class. Well done Helen & Toby on an excellent first outing!
Hawkesbury Dressage 3 Aug 08
Tamsin & Pops went to Hawkesbury Dressage Club where they successfully scored 60.40% in the 2.3 and narrowly missing out on a placing (finished 7th) in the official 1.3 with 55.6%. PJ scored a day off as Mum just "didn't feel up to it"!
