Tamsin & Pops xc

Out & About - April 2009

Jess & Midnight18/19 Apr 09 - Berrima ODE

Tamsin, Pops, Soo & PJ headed off to the Southern Highlands for another weekend of eventing fun. Little did we know as we set off at 4:30am Saturday what an amazing weekend it would turn out to be. Tamsin & Pops held their lead from the dressage to win the Junior Intro class. Soo & PJ ALSO held their lead from their dressage to win their Prelim class.

19 Apr 09 - Northside Riding Club Dressage

Meals & Sansi rode a couple of novice tests in what was reported to be foul conditions. Sansi apparently made his feelings known by standing on his hind legs at X but redeemed himself in further movements!

Northside Riding Club Show Jumping

Another full truck load and more 'first's! This time Jess & Midnight making their debut ... and what a beautiful double clear 50cm they rode. It was also Astro's first proper show jumping outing and Sansi's first 80cm round. Well done to all riders and thanks to supporters - friends and family - affectionately referred to as the "Ardis Army" by one fellow competitor! More pics on gallery page.

In house clinics & mini ODE

We ran horsemanship, show jump and cross country clinics as well as a mini ODE. Riders in the ODE got to re-ride their dressage tests, something all agreed was particularly beneficial. The cross country course for the ODE had to be set up in the arena, courtesy of yet more rain, where the horses remarked at the unexpected styles of 'arena' jumps (everything from tyres, leafy branches, brush to pheasant feeder). All riders had fun, learnt a lot and, so we've been told, slept very well afterward!! More pics on gallery page.

Dobbs first outing

One of our babies, two year old "Dobbs" enjoyed his first ever ride away from home turf. He strode out like a veteran, taking the lead, plodding straight through running water on the road and didn't even given the excavator we passed a second look! Look out for this guy in a couple of years time!
